The Shetland Pony, sculpted by Chris Hess and identified as Breyer mold #23, was introduced in 1960. It features a round “Breyer Molding Co.” stamp on its belly, and some early versions also include a “CHess” marking inside the right thigh. Between 1970 and 1972, the “U.S.A.” stamp was added, and some models also display a “B” stamp, which was discontinued around 1983.
