Description
This wonderful horse is the Lakota Pony with two blue “staples” on his near rump representing a horse taken in a raid. This is Breyer model #869 done on the beautiful Foundation Stallion mold. He is a creamy white with blue and white spotted areas on his chest and rump. He has been on display and is in excellent condition. No hang tag.
Tribe who rode and raised horses include the Lakota, Kiowa, Pawnee, and Comanche.
Warriors painted symbolic markings on their ponies. This Breyer Lakota Pony is painted
blue with white to protect from harm. Safety was insured by applying the markings during a special ceremony.
